I can't remove m.2 screw. Halp
So the screw to remove the nvme is completely stripped and I have no idea how to unscrew it now. No screwdriver will work anymore because it's basically done for.
I tried for hours and got fed up for the day and just I am still on the tiny SSD
This is what it looks like now.
If anyone has any ideas you'll save my life. Thanks.
Back in my day, you just put in an SD card in a Nintendo system.
That's still current day.

Do you have a flat head that small? Sometimes I can get it with a small flat head. Or just a larger phillips head

If you happen to have a smaller phillips, you may be able to get deeper in where its not been stripped so badly and very slowly but firmly be able to turn it. Outside of that, you will have to use a very small set of pliars around the outside edge of the screw, taking care not to scrap the card itself if you intend to reuse it.

I do have a flat head screwdriver, but it just slides right off.
I am going to try to brainstorm something tomorrow.
I can't tell you how insulting it is to have a 1TB NVME sitting next to you when one little screw is preventing you from removing a 256gb NVME.
I did try to scratch down the metal with a flathead to make a dent for a flathead to latch onto but I don't think I made any progress there at all. It's clearly a very soft metal that screws are made of, it's like playing with mashed potatoes.
A lego is industrictible compared to this and that's plastic.

That's for UK, so he'll probably want to just go to Amazon US and search for "rounded screw removal tool" or "damaged screw extractor." But yeah, that's exactly what is needed if it gets that bad. For some reason, I've never bought a set. I think it's high time I did.Mr_Nick666 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:52 amhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=rounded+sc ... nbctbpm6_e

Option B would be to use a Dremel and cut a flat into the top of the screw for a flat head screwdriver. The screw removal tools are best though (I just used the UK link to show what he was looking for).WoodenSaucer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:18 amThat's for UK, so he'll probably want to just go to Amazon US and search for "rounded screw removal tool" or "damaged screw extractor." When I clicked on the link, it popped up with a bunch of warnings about shipping to the US, and everything was in pounds. Haha.Mr_Nick666 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:43 amOption B would be to use a Dremel and cut a flat into the top of the screw for a flat head screwdriver. Option C would be to just completely drill the screw out and use a tapping tool to try to retap the hole for whatever size screw that is. Lol. But your first suggestion was definitely the best.

if you have a tiny enough needle-nose pliers, you could probably get it out.
you could also try supergluing the closest fitting screwdriver in as a last resort and then using a solvent to clean off the screwdriver after.
but your best bet is to go to a hardware store and just buy what nick said - https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-Spira ... /205469301 i would try to do it manually before trying a drill on a hardrive if it was me
