I think the new console will be released around March next year like the switch, so we night not hear anything about it until October or November. That's just a wild guess, though, so we'll see

The next Xbox is rumored to not be coming out until 2027 or even 2028. And people are saying the PS6 won't come out until around the same time. So I wonder if Nintendo really will release something new next year. I know they're not really the same market, but I wonder if they'd release something 2 years before the others, or just ride it out. I guess there's the possibility if they release something new that early, they could get in on a few more 3rd parties before the others demolish them power-wise.

With the state of the industry these days, who knows. So many friggin' layoffs. It makes me wonder how long the console "power war" can continue before companies have just lost too much money playing that game

I said this years ago. Just stick with 1080P but set everything to max. I do that a lot and even on my 85" TV stuff looks superb. They can push existing tech without desperately going for 4K 90fps..

I think that's part of why they're pushing this generation out so long. They can't afford to do anything greater than what they have before then. But they've also created a monster where everyone expects it. If they don't put out something greater than what they already have, nobody will buy it, unless it's a gimmick. I think that's why Microsoft is rumored to be putting out something like a Switch that is the power of the XSS, at least when docked.
